Question: What is anti-aging?

Dr. TERZİLER: I may say that, it is new trend nowadays. It is to make effort to stay young and live the youth for a long time. The human being suddenly realized that, he lost or was about to lose his youth while he was trying to get position, money and success. Therefore, I may say that, a new class, which cares health and youth more and makes afford to protect them, has been formed.

Question: How is anti aging applied?

Dr. TERZİLER: The fist thing, which should be done, is to make a strong decision. Because anti aging is a period, which lasts for the lifetime, the struggle power should be high when you encounter some barriers on your way. The main classes are

•  a healthy diet

•  a healthy mentality (stress controlled life)

•  sports

•  fight to obesity

•  regular check up


Question: What does anti aging diet mean?

Dr. TERZİLER: The basic principle is to consume natural food and keep away from synthetic food. More fruit and vegetable consuming is essential over and at the age of thirty. Red meat consuming should not be exaggerated. It should not be consumed more than two times a week. Meats, vegetables and potato should not be fried in oil. Furthermore, grilled meat should not be preferred. In both cases, too much carcinogen substances are formed.

Quitting the meal before fed up is like to drive our car without loading it fully. That means full meal reduces lifetime as the same way that full load reduces the car's life.

Dinner is exaggerated in Turkish culture. However, the habit should be a healthy and balanced dinner with meals prepared with olive oil, salads and yoghurt. Dinner should be had early as much as possible.

Fruits should be consumed half an hour before or two hours after the meal instead of after fully fed up. Dried fruits and nuts should be limited. They increase body strength because of its high zinc, iron, and vitamin E content.

Question: Which foods should be consumed?

Dr. TERZİLER: Especially synthetic foods should not be consumed unless it is necessary. It should be kept away from fast food. White bread, potato and spaghetti have same properties. They certainly cause over weight. Chocolate, wafer, desserts, candies, soft drinks, cola, synthetic fruit drinks, chips and biscuits contain carcinogen substances and attention should be paid.

Question: Is there any relation between healthy mentality and anti aging?

Dr. TERZİLER: “man's mind causes all his problems,” proverb tells the fact in brief. The mind has not the right to make men sorrowful by paying attention to the empty part of the glass. The mind should be happy by focusing on the full part of the glass. We should try to see our advantages, think about the people, who have not these advantages and try to have a restful life. Stress control may be done by this way, easily. The individual, who has this success, is completely freed from depression and panic attack. Consequently, the brain produces positive energy, and endorphin and serotonin (happiness hormone) secretion is increased. Defense system of the body and work of cell becomes perfect. The body stays vigorous, fresh and young, and lifetime is extended.

Question: Is sports certainly necessary for anti aging?

Dr. TERZİLER: It is certainly necessary. Jogging for half an hour everyday is a perfect sport.

Question: What is obesity?

Dr. TERZİLER: It is the illness of our era. It means overweight. That means abnormal weight. You should make your body free from this anomaly immediately.

Question: How is anti aging done with regular check up?

Dr. TERZİLER: Main reasons, which make the body older, are chronic illnesses. Main reasons, which cause early deaths, are heart illnesses and cancer. Therefore, regular check up should become a culture to be aware of illnesses before it improves.

The purpose of modern medical science is to detect the illnesses before they appear, because the cure is difficult and expensive after the illness progresses.

Check up should be carried out by experts and in detailed. A research should be done by blood tests, EKO, effort test, osteoporosis, ultrasonic detection and the results should be evaluated by the coordination of the experts of eye, ear illnesses, urology, internal diseases, cardiology etc.
